David Garrick and Huguenot music in England [Bucks]

Bloomsbury Baroque perform music by Huguenot composers as part of Waddesdon Manor' Saved for the Nation exhibition, which includes a famous portrait by Sir Joshua Reynolds entitled 'David Garrick between Tragedy and Comedy'.
Admission for this concert costs £25 and includes a tour of Waddesdon Manor - booking is available HERE.
It is also preceded by a talk given by Ellis Jones entitled 'David Garrick: his life, his times and his Temple'. The talk costs £10 and can be booked HERE.

Bloomsbury Baroque give an overview of music by Huguenot composers working in England and France from the early seventeenth to the late eighteenth centuries, including Nicholas Lanier, de Sainte-Colombe, Prelleur, and members of the Barthelemon familly. The story of their integration into British life is reflected by David Garrick and his family, whose connections with France are illustrated with accounts and letters.

This concert forms part of the prestigious Bloomsbury Festival, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, and you can buy tickets HERE.
It takes place in collaboration with the Garrick's Temple to Shakespeare Trust - more information about the Temple is available HERE.
The venue is a prestigious church in the heart of 'Huguenot country' - where many of its inhabitants in the eighteenth and nineteenth century were of Huguenot descent. It is a few minutes walk from Tottenham Court Road underground station.
