Schubertiad [Garrick's Temple
Saturday 01 August 2026
19:00 to 21:00
The Cordial Consort return to Garrick's Temple to perform Lieder by Schubert and his contemporaries.
Patricia Hammond - Mezzo Soprano
William Summers - Flute
Jamie Akers - Guitar
The trio use Romantic-era instruments for these dramatic, narrative songs, and introduce the meaning of the texts. The songs are most often performed with piano, but during Schubert's lifetime they were arranged for guitar with voice or either instrument with flute.
Everyone is welcome to attend this concert of beautiful, passionate music - whether or not they are already familar with it - providing they are able and willing to listen. Wine is usually served during the interval, and the musicians will introduce the music, themselves and the instruments.
Booking is cheaper in advance [£14; £8], especially as the venue is small, and you can buy tickets HERE.
Admission is still possible on the door [£16].
