Duo Follia
Follia Duo perform music by JS Bach, Dornel and Demoivre featuring two of the most distinctive strands of Baroque music: the counterpoint of JS Bach and the mannered elegance of French music. French style travelled to England by way of emigre musicians as well as scores, and Bach’s music was influenced in part by the traditions of French suites and overtures. In turn, JS Bach passed on his darker harmonic styles to his son CPE Bach and the lighter elements to his other sons and contemporaries.
