Classical flute quartets [Hampton]

Saturday 27 November 2021
19:00 to 20:00

The flute quartet falls in between Baroque chamber music and revolutionary Romantic string quartets and symphonies. Anticipated by Telemann's 'Paris' quartets but lighter than Beethoven's early string quartets - and with a lighter style of variations than Chopin or Taffanel - this charming form perfectly balances strings and the flute.

The London Abel Quartet

William Summers - Flute

Diane Moore - Violin

Diane Terry - Viola

Sam Stadlen - Cello

The quartet will play music by Haydn, Abel and Mozart using Classical or Transitional instruments suitable for late the eighteenth-century.

Tickets cost £12 in advance and £14 on the door. Please observe anti-COVID precautions, and please book in advance if at all possible:
