The Greenwood Trio; Antony Elvin@Betsey Trotwood [Clerkenwell, London]
Monday 02 December 2019
20:00 to 22:00
The Early Nights Club returns to this charming Victorian pub, known for its music and poetry sessions as well as for food and drink [www.betsey.pub]. The session's approach is a mixture of Music hall wit, Munrovian revivalism, and hardcore music college study and expectcations - No Talking while the music plays!
The Greenwood Trio perform English ditties revived in the nineteenth century, alongside popular tunes from the Georgian era.
Patricia Hammond - Voice
William Summers - Flute, Recorder, Crumhorn
Antony Elvin and the Tudor Unit
Eschewing the shoe-gazing angst of his youth [or anyone else], Antony's songs encapsulate witty escapades and risky episodes from the expressive life of the precariat, channeling the spirits of Noel Coward and David Essex.
Antony Elvin - Voice, Guitar
William Summers - Flute, Recorder, Crumhorn
Doors open at 7.30, and there will be at least one break
